Characteristics:

Coloration of fur is dull white with broad, brown to black stripes. This specie has broader and fewer stripes than many of the zebra species. Zebras stand around 5 feet tall at the shoulders and are 7-8 feet long.

Behavior: |
Zebras live in herds and have acute hearing. They work as a herd to defend their kind from lion, hyena and other predators. They can run up to 40 miles per hour.

Reproduction: |
Zebras reproduce by live birth, their gestation period is 11-13 months. They have 1 young, called a foal, every 2-3 years. Sexual maturity is reached in 1-2 years. In the wild they live 12-15 years. In captivity a zebra may live 20+ years.
