Looking for a unique family experience? Spend a WILD night at the
zoo with your kids! Choose from these custom-designed adventures:
Sleep With the Sharks Family Nights
Your under-the-sea adventure will explore all things under
the ocean, then you’ll sleep in the aquarium right next to the
sharks! Age 5 & up with adult.
$25 per child, $15 per adult

Sleep Under the Stars Family Nights
Pitch your own tent and learn about nocturnal critters as
your family camps out a the zoo! Age 5 & up with adult.

Preschool Family Nights
Parents and preschoolers are invited to have their own
fun-filled night in the aquarium gallery! Age 3 to 5 with adult.

Fall Zoo School
Programs for Families
What's Cooking?
Find out what zoo animals eat, and then help the zoo keepers prepare
and deliver afternoon feedings to selected animals. Children ages 5
and older, please. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Saturday, September 20
1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Fee: $15 per child, $10 per adult
Going Batty
Local bat rehabilitator and educator Bob Walton will introduce us to
the bats of Indiana and explain how we can help with bat
rehabilitation efforts. Families will construct their own bat house
during the workshop, so please bring a hammer to the program!
Fee includes one bat house per family. Children ages 5 and over
only, please. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Fee: $35 per family (includes bat house materials)
Family Night at the Museum
You’ve seen the movie – now experience it! Spend a fun-filled
night at the Diehm Museum of Natural History. Explore the
museum as you look for clues to solve a
mystery, then bed down in the museum’s halls for the night.
Pizza dinner and
continental breakfast included. Children ages 5 and older,
please. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Programs for Kids
Horse Sense 101
Children who love horses will learn about feeding, grooming, hoof
care, and how to relate to these beautiful animals, all while
working with the zoo’s ponies. We’ll also explore tack, pony
characteristics and animal communication.

Preschool Discovery Program: Fur,
Feathers, and Scales
Preschoolers can learn about their favorite animals as they explore

three weekly sessions. Classes are designed to encourage

Programs for Scouts and Groups
A Night at the Museum
You’ve seen the movie – now experience it! Spend a fun-filled
night at the Diehm Museum of Natural History. Explore the
museum as you look for clues to solve a mystery, then bed down in
the museum’s halls for the night. Pizza dinner and continental
breakfast included.
Scouts can be registered individually or as a group. Scouts
attending individually must be accompanied by an adult; troops must
include adequate adult supervision. Groups will be combined
until maximum amount of participants is reached.

Summer
Safari Day Camp
Kids ages 4-14 can enjoy a week-long adventure as they explore
the animal kingdom. Camps are offered during the summer months.
Summer Safari 2009 Registration will begin in February, 2009.

We’ll bring friendly animals and tailor our presentation to meet

Wild Nights
Find out what happens at the zoo at night … all night!
Enjoy after-dark adventures and nature activities, then sleep
indoors next to the sharks! Programs are available for
families with children age 5 and older; homeschool groups; schools,
scouts, youth groups, and other organized groups of children age
7-12. Fee charged.
Special Event: Halloween Wild Nights
Haunt the Train Ride at the Great Zoo Halloween, hear Halloween
folklore, and cook around a campfire! Spend the night in the
aquarium gallery.

Storytime
Load up your preschool kids and join is for Storytime on selected
weekdays in August and September. Free.
Santa Visits the Zoo

Join us for a magical holiday adventure for the whole family! Meet
