Teacher Advisory Council
The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo's Teacher Advisory Council guides the Education Department in the development and evaluation of programs, resources, and services for educators. Advisory Council members volunteer to serve for at least one year. Interested teachers should contact Cheryl Piropato, Education Director, at 260-427-6803 or .

Educator Workshops

Join us for these hands-on workshops designed to help you integrate science, literacy, and Academic Standards.

Project WILD Workshop
Tuesday, March 24, 2008 9:00am - 3:00 p.m.  Free to licensed teachers, $15.00 to others.  Indiana licensed teachers are eligible to receive 3 Certification Renewal Units (CRUs) for attendance to this all-day workshop.

Homeschool Parent & Child Workshop
Tuesday, March 10
Time 1:00-2:30 p.m.
Location: Noble County Public Library Central in Albion, Indiana.
Fee: Free

Parents and children will explore the wonderful world of frogs and polliwogs through crafts, songs, stories and much more. Designed for children age 4-12, but all ages are welcome.

Free Planning Visit
Teachers, click here to print a coupon for a free planning visit! Use this visit to plan your field trip activities in advance. Note: The coupon expires at the end of this season.

Adopt an Animal
Looking for a worthy cause to support with the proceeds from your classroom fund-raiser? Consider the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo's Adopt-an-Animal program. You'll receive a classroom certificate, a photo of your animal, a fact sheet about your animal, and a wallet card for each student.

NISTEM Resources
The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo is proud to partner with the NISTEM Education Resource Center for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Click on the link to put your students in touch with all the resources our region has to offer.

Discovery Boxes
Portable learning kits contain biofacts, resources, activity ideas, videos, puppets, and more!  Discovery Boxes are loaned to you free of charge for two weeks.  To reserve a Discovery Box, call the Education Department at 260-427-6808 or e-mail
