Enjoy family fun and zoo animals while experiencing an exciting Halloween tradition. 

Kids will get candy, enjoy a daily costume parade, visit the Mummy’s Kitchen and the Beauty Shop of Horrors, meet Broomhilda the witch, dance the Monster Mash, and much more!

Wild Zoo Halloween activities are located in the Central Zoo and portions of the Australian Adventure.  The African Journey and Indonesian Rain Forest will not be open during the Wild Zoo Halloween.

Daily Activity Schedule

Daily activities include a costume parade, Monster Mash Dance Party, live animal shows, and more!  Watch for updates in late summer.

All activities (except Sea Lion Show) are held on the Australian Adventure Plaza

Our treats are orangutan-friendly!
All treats offered at the Wild Zoo Halloween are palm-oil free or are manufactured by companies that are members of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO).  The sustainable production of palm oil is crucial to the survival of orangutans, because their rain forest habitat is often destroyed to create poorly managed and unsustainable palm oil plantations.  Learn more about RSPO here.

Use this guide to make orangutan-friendly choices when purchasing your own Halloween candy to distribute to trick-or-treaters at home.

Are there additional fees?
Everything listed under Daily Activity Schedule and Special Days above is included with your admission, along with 10 treats for every child and a free pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch.  Additional fees are charged for these optional activities: Train Ride, carnival-style games, bead bracelet, face painting, pony ride, and food purchases zoo concession stands.

Are Zoo Members admitted free?
Fort Wayne Zoo Society Members at the Zoo Booster, Safari Club, Director's Circle, and King of the Jungle levels get free admission to the Wild Zoo Halloween!  Members in those categories will receive a letter authorizing free admission for those normally covered under your Membership. Watch for your letter and bring it with you for one-time free admission.  All other Zoo Members (Individual, Family, Single Parent, Grandparent, and Zoo Friend) receive a $2 discount on admission to this fundraising event. 

Scarecrow Safari Contest

Enter our Scarecrow Safari contest and win a free field trip!  
Your family, school, scout, or youth group can create and display up to three life-sized scarecrows as part of this special, “merry, not scary” exhibit. Almost anything can be used to create scarecrows as long as all items are weatherproof. There is no cost to enter, and your scarecrows will be enjoyed by our 25,000 zoo guests!  Watch for entry forms and details this fall.
