Celebrate Earth
Day Saturday
at the Zoo’s “Party for the Planet”
How will your family celebrate Earth Day? Head to the Fort Wayne Children’s
Zoo on Saturday, April 26 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and join the “Party for
the Planet.” The event is free with zoo admission.
At Party for the Planet, visitors will learn how simple conservation efforts can
make a remarkable difference to wildlife in our own backyards and beyond. “We
want to celebrate our natural wonders,” said Cheryl Piropato, Education
Director. “We’ll also demonstrate how small lifestyle changes can make a big
difference to Planet Earth.”
At “Party for the Planet,” visitors can search for backyard animal friends,
learn about endangered animals, practice recycling, take on an obstacle course,
learn about tree planting, and do the Supermarket Sweep.
Fort Wayne’s Children Zoo’s “Party for the Planet” is part of the Association of
Zoos and Aquarium’s public education campaign that encourages families to learn
about and conserve the planet.
The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is one of the area’s major attractions and was
named one of the country’s “Ten Best Zoos for Kids” by Child
magazine.
