Celebrate Earth Day

Party for the Planet Saturday!
Join Fort Wayne's most amazing Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 25 as we "Party for the Planet" at the zoo!

  • Become an endangered Sumatran tiger and have your picture taken
  • Play a recyclable sorting game
  • Take an Earth Day Quiz
  • Do a supermarket sweep to compare throw-away and reusable shopping bags
  • Learn how to make your home greener
  • Share green ideas by adding a "pledge leaf" to the zoo's earth day tree.

Pick up a flyer at the gate for details.  Activities are free with zoo admission and run from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Z-Tips for Green Living

By making smart choices, you can make the world greener and help wild animals.
Here are some ideas to get you started:

Beginner: Turn off lights when not needed
Amateur: Fix leaky faucets
Pro: Plant a garden to grow your own fruits and vegetables

Hours and Prices

The zoo is open seven days-a-week from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The African Journey exhibit opens on June 6.

Admission is $12.00 for adults, $8.00 for children age 2-14, and $10.00 for seniors age 60 and over.  Babies age one and under and Zoo Society Members are admitted free.
