Kaya one step closer to joining the langur troop

Kaya the Spectacled Langur
Kaya the spectacled langur will soon join the adult langurs in the exhibit.
You first met Kaya the spectacled langur in the Z-Mail newsletter last fall.  Neglected by her mother, this bright orange monkey was hand reared by zoo keepers since her birth on October 8.

Now ten months old, Kaya has turned the gray color of adult langurs and is getting her first taste of life outdoors.  Last week, Kaya moved into a "howdy" cage placed behind the langur exhibit so she can safely get acquainted with the langur troop.  Look closely, and you may be able to see Kaya at the back of the exhibit.  Once Kaya's transition is complete, she'll move into the exhibit with our adult langurs.  Zoo keepers hope that move will take place sometime this fall.
