Volunteer at the Zoo!If you are age 18 or older and want to share your love of animals with the zoo's 500,000 visitors, you are invited to become a zoo volunteer. Volunteers assist with everything from selling goat food and washing dishes to leading education programs. By volunteering, you can be part of one of the nation's best zoos! A training class for new volunteers begins March 17. For more information or to register, contact Molly Andres, Volunteer Coordinator, at 260-427-6828 or e-mail volunteer@kidszoo.org.
Love, Penguin-Style There's always a little drama to be had in the penguin house, especially when love is in the air. These mini-soap operas usually involve spouse-stealing, where one penguin becomes interested in another's partner. Currently, female penguin Right Orange is making a play for male Right Silver, causing much anxiety for female Left Silver. (The penguins are named for the color and location of their wing bands.) Keepers are confident that the trio will work things out. Stay tuned for more updates!
