Today is Zoo Day!Shop at Scott's and Kroger today and help the zoo
The support of businesses like Scott's and Kroger demonstrate the tremendous community support that the zoo enjoys. More than $1 million has been raised since Zoo Day was initiated in 1993. Show your support while you shop today! It's Treat Time!
Our Bennett's wallabies recently enjoyed a special treat - fruit kabobs, delivered right to their exhibit! Even the little joeys tried a few nibbles of these healthy snacks. The fruit kabobs are part of the zoo's Animal Enrichment program, which provides foods and activities to enrich the animals' daily lives. Enrichment items can include unusual foods, daily training sessions (like those you see at Sea Lion Beach), toys (such as blankets for the orangutans), and other items. Enrichment items are tailored to an animal's physical and dietary needs and are carefully evaluated for safety before use. Items are introduced on a rotating schedule, so the animals never know what they'll get each day. See if you can find enrichment items in use on your next visit! Enjoy "Carnival of the Animals" ballet at the zoo SundayTake a seat and relax on the Australian Adventure Plaza as the Fort Wayne Ballet Youth Company performs excerpts from the grand zoological fantasy Carnival of the Animals and other works on Sunday, May 18 at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. The 20-minute performances are free with zoo admission.
